Mature Operators

AAA Mature Operator course is a state approved safe driving course designed but not limited to assist drivers over 60 to enhance their driving skills that have developed over the years.  This course focuses on building awareness of all of the changes that occur for road users as we age including; physical, cognitive, roadway and behavioral changes while also brining you up-to-date on the latest advances and risk reducing driving techniques.  

Classes are taught by a AAA nationally certified instructor and they include the following topics and more:  risk reduction, vision and other natural aged based changes, communication with other drivers, speed and space management, driving emergencies, vehicle maintenance and the effects of alcohol, prescription medications and other impairments on driving.  

Insurance companies are required to give an insurance premium reduction for those who successfully complete this course.  This course does include a small driving assessment that is performed in our company parking lot.   You will be asked to share the certificate of completion with your insurance agent once you have completed the course.

CLASS SCHEDULE for 2021

Courses will be taught at AAA Ohio Auto Club's Headquarters, 90 E. Wilson Bridge Rd., Worthington, Ohio.

This is a two-day course. Participants must attend both days and pass an exam to be eligible for a certificate. Course hours are 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
