AAA’s Mature Operator Course is a state-approved safe driving course designed to enhance the driving skills of drivers over age 60. Classes are held at AAA Ohio Auto Club Headquarters, 90 E. Wilson Bridge Rd., Worthington, Ohio. Some features include:
- 8 hours of classroom instruction divided into two four-hour class days
- Instruction by AAA certified instructors
- Focus on risk reduction, impact of vision and other natural age-based changes on driving, communication with other drivers, speed and space management, driving emergencies, vehicle technology changes, driver impairment and more
- Short driving assessment in the parking lot
Ohio state law requires insurance companies to provide an auto insurance discount for drivers age 60+ who successfully complete this course. Certificate of completion required to receive discount.
