Mature Operators

AAA’s Safe Driving for Mature Operators is a state-approved classroom program specifically designed for, but not limited to those over the age of 55. The course serves to enhance the driving skills mature operators have developed over the years while also building awareness of the inevitable physical changes that occur as we age and bringing you up-to-date on the latest advances and risk-reducing driving techniques.

Classes are taught by a AAA certified instructor and include the following topics: seeing, communicating, adjusting speed, driving emergencies, margin of safety, vehicle maintenance and the effects of alcohol, prescriptions and emotions on driving.

Classes run four hours on two separate days for total of eight hours, at AAA Ohio Auto Club headquarters located at 90 E. Wilson Bridge Road, Worthington, unless otherwise specified. (The course can also be taught at your facility, ask for details.)

Class fee is $25 for AAA members, $35 for non-members. The class fee is discounted for couples; $40 for two AAA members, $50 for two non-members. Lunch is included both days. The course size is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Many insurance companies give an insurance premium reduction to those who successfully complete this course. Please check with your insurance agent to see if your company does.
