Child Safety Seats

Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for children, partly because nearly 75% are unbuckled or improperly secured in motor vehicles, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. AAA aims to keep child passengers safe by educating caregivers on the proper way to restrain children in car seats and booster seats through its Child Safety Seat Check Program.

Call to make an appointment to have your car seat or booster seat checked by AAA Ohio’s Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians at the following locations.

I had my car seat checked recently at AAA. Your car seat technicians urged me to call the manufacturer after I told them about how hard our car seat’s harness is to adjust. The technician discovered our car seat was part of a recall. I called, and with absolutely no hassle, the manufacturer is sending us a FREE replacement car seat. BRAND NEW. Could not believe it. It’s two years old! I would never have even thought something so small and after two years would earn a complete replacement! Thanks, AAA, for looking out for us!

It was freezing cold. My wife had just delivered a baby 2 weeks early. She was about to be discharged from Riverside Hospital. But we still hadn’t gotten the baby’s car seat installed in our car. So I was desperate. Without an appointment, I burst into Upper Arlington’s AAA Ohio Auto Club and explained my predicament to Joseph Saylor of the Auto Club’s Insurance Agency. Refusing any payment, Mr. Saylor immediately hooked me up with the Auto Club’s registered car seat expert Kristen Cain. Ms. Cain, who also refused payment, then skillfully attached our baby’s car seat. Despite the cold weather, Ms. Cain took the time to explain the car seat’s installation to me, checked and double-checked all of the straps and buckles to make sure the seat was secure, and even attached a protective cover over the car seat to protect our baby from the elements when he went from the hospital to the car. Needless to say, I was extremely impressed and grateful to Upper Arlington’s AAA Ohio Auto Club and especially to Kristen Cain. For not only is Ms. Cain a registered car seat expert, but she is also a very kind and conscientious person.
