AAA has partnered with Nissan’s NRG EVgo program to host electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at select central Ohio AAA locations. The chargers are all extremely fast, generation 3 charging stations, which means they can completely charge a vehicle in as little as 20 minutes. They will charge every vehicle on the road, except for the Chevy Volt. The stations can charge a Tesla with an adapter that comes with the vehicle.
Currently, these stations sit in front of the following AAA Ohio Auto Club locations:
- AAA Car Care Plus – Columbus Northwest
- AAA Car Care Plus Reynoldsburg
- AAA Car Care Plus Dublin
- AAA Gahanna/New Albany
- AAA Worthington
The general public can hook up to these stations for $5.95 and 20 cents per kilowatt hour. Vehicle owners that are members of the NRG EVgo program pay $3.95 for a hookup and 10 cents per kilowatt hour.
Each station is listed on Plug Share, which is an app for locating EV charging stations. Stations are also listed on the AAA Mobile App for iPhone, iPad and Android and on the TripTik Travel Planner. Download the app to find the EV Charging station nearest you.
